Edwardians continued the Victorian tradition of mourning as vigorously as before, but, in the end, mourning in Europe was driven out of fashion by the same thing that drove it out of America: a gruesome, bloody war that put everyone into mourning. After that, anybody who wore black all the time was just an annoying goth.
